Disclaimer

Effective Date: June 12, 2026

The information provided by Fostering the Connection LLC through fosteringtheconnection.com, trainings, presentations, consultations, events, podcasts, newsletters, social media, downloadable materials, and other communications is intended for general educational and informational purposes.

Please read this Disclaimer carefully before relying on our content.

1. Educational Information Only

Fostering the Connection provides education, consulting, speaking, training, resources, and organizational support relating to foster care, trauma-informed practices, adoption, family support, nonprofit leadership, program development, and related topics.

Our information is educational in nature and should not be treated as individualized professional advice.

2. No Medical or Mental-Health Advice

Nothing on this website or in our programs is intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent a medical or mental-health condition.

Our content is not a substitute for care from a qualified physician, therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, counselor, occupational therapist, or other licensed healthcare professional.

Always seek appropriate professional guidance for questions involving health, mental health, development, medication, diagnosis, treatment, safety, or crisis intervention.

Do not delay or disregard professional care because of something you read or hear from Fostering the Connection.

3. No Legal Advice

Information involving foster-care systems, licensing, adoption, custody, confidentiality, organizational policies, employment, contracts, or compliance is provided only as general education.

It is not legal advice and does not create an attorney-client relationship.

Laws, regulations, agency policies, and court procedures vary by jurisdiction and may change. Consult a licensed attorney or the appropriate government or licensing authority for guidance concerning a specific matter.

4. No Social-Work, Clinical, or Therapeutic Relationship

Accessing our website, submitting a form, attending a training, purchasing a resource, or participating in a consultation does not create a therapist-client, social worker-client, case-management, fiduciary, or other licensed professional relationship.

Fostering the Connection does not provide child-placement services, custody decisions, case management, therapy, clinical treatment, legal representation, crisis response, or government licensing through this website.

5. Emergency and Safety Situations

This website is not monitored for emergencies.

If you believe a child or another person is in immediate danger, contact emergency services or the appropriate local authority.

Concerns regarding suspected child abuse or neglect should be reported through the legally appropriate reporting channel in your jurisdiction.

Do not submit emergency reports, allegations, medical emergencies, or urgent safety concerns through our general contact forms, email, or social-media accounts.

6. Confidentiality and Foster-Care Information

Please do not submit confidential or personally identifying information about a child, family, client, foster-care placement, adoption, court proceeding, medical matter, or child-welfare case through the website.

This includes:

  • Full names of children

  • Photographs without authorization

  • Birth dates

  • Home or placement addresses

  • Case numbers

  • Court documents

  • Medical or mental-health information

  • School information

  • Confidential agency records

  • Details protected by law, court order, contract, or professional duty

Submitting information to Fostering the Connection does not create a legally privileged or confidential professional relationship.

7. Training and Relicensing Hours

Some Fostering the Connection programs may provide certificates of completion or document instructional hours.

Unless expressly stated in writing, participation does not guarantee approval for:

  • Foster-parent relicensing hours

  • Professional continuing education

  • Teacher credits

  • Social-work continuing education

  • Clinical licensing requirements

  • Employer-required professional development

  • College or academic credit

Participants are responsible for obtaining advance approval from their supervising agency, licensing worker, employer, professional board, school system, or other appropriate authority.

A certificate of completion confirms participation only. It does not represent a professional license, degree, certification, or endorsement by a government agency.

8. Trauma-Informed Organizational Services

Organizational assessments, consultations, and recommendations are intended to help organizations examine policies, practices, communication, culture, and environments through a trauma-informed lens.

They do not constitute a government inspection, regulatory audit, accreditation review, legal-compliance determination, clinical assessment, or official certification.

Completion of an assessment or training does not mean that an organization is “certified trauma-informed” unless a separate recognized certifying body has expressly granted that designation.

Implementation decisions remain the responsibility of the organization and its qualified advisers.

9. No Guaranteed Results

We strive to provide thoughtful, accurate, and practical information, but we do not guarantee specific outcomes.

Results may vary based on factors such as:

  • Individual circumstances

  • Organizational leadership

  • Staff participation

  • Available resources

  • Implementation quality

  • Community conditions

  • Agency requirements

  • Changes in law or policy

  • Factors outside our control

Participation in a training, consultation, event, or program does not guarantee improved funding, licensing approval, organizational change, placement stability, employee performance, or another particular result.

10. Accuracy and Timeliness

We make reasonable efforts to provide useful and accurate information. However, foster-care practices, laws, regulations, research, resources, programs, and agency policies may change.

We do not guarantee that every page, link, statistic, recommendation, or resource will remain complete, current, or applicable to every jurisdiction.

Visitors should independently verify important information with the appropriate professional, licensing body, government agency, or original source.

11. Lived Experience and Personal Perspectives

Some content may include lived experience, personal stories, professional observations, interviews, opinions, or perspectives from founders, speakers, podcast guests, participants, or contributors.

These perspectives belong to the individuals expressing them. They do not necessarily represent the views of every foster parent, adoptee, foster-care alum, child-welfare professional, organization, government agency, or community.

One person’s experience should not be assumed to represent everyone with a similar background.

12. Guest Speakers and Contributors

Guest speakers, podcast guests, panelists, writers, and contributors are responsible for their own statements and opinions.

Their participation does not necessarily mean that Fostering the Connection endorses every opinion, organization, product, service, or position they express.

We may edit content for length, clarity, privacy, or format, but we do not guarantee the accuracy of every statement made by a third-party contributor.

13. Testimonials

Testimonials reflect the experiences and opinions of individual clients, participants, or partners.

They are not promises or guarantees of future performance or results.

Material relationships, complimentary services, sponsorships, or other connections will be disclosed when required. Necessary advertising disclosures should be clear and conspicuous.

14. External Resources and Links

Our website may link to third-party websites, books, organizations, articles, tools, videos, podcasts, or services for convenience and educational purposes.

We do not control those third parties and do not guarantee their:

Visitors may not copy, sell, redistribute, record, reproduce, or present our materials as their own without authorization.

Permission to view or purchase a resource does not transfer ownership.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Fostering the Connection LLC and its owners, employees, speakers, contractors, and representatives are not responsible for losses, injuries, decisions, or consequences resulting from reliance on general educational information without obtaining appropriate professional guidance.
