From Behavior to Connection is a 60-minute trauma-informed digital course designed to help foster parents better understand the feelings, needs, and experiences behind a child’s behavior.

Children impacted by foster care often communicate pain, fear, grief, confusion, and unmet needs through their behavior. This course helps caregivers move beyond simply managing behaviors and begin responding with connection, compassion, consistency, and felt safety.

In this training, foster parents will learn how trauma can impact a child’s emotions, behavior, attachment, regulation, and sense of safety. Participants will also gain practical tools for supporting big feelings, challenging behaviors, transitions, family visits, divided loyalties, and everyday moments of overwhelm.

This course is designed to be approachable, practical, and encouraging for foster parents who want to care for children with greater understanding and confidence.

In this 60-minute course, you will learn how to:

• Understand the connection between trauma, emotions, and behavior
• Recognize what a child may be communicating through big behaviors
• Respond with connection instead of reacting from frustration
• Create felt safety through consistency, compassion, and calm
